A walk around Bristol Harbour

As soon as we made RnR secure we set off to find the Harbour Masters office for 'leccy cards
A splash of red sail in front of SS Gt Britain and SS Matthew ...
... and a view of the prow of 6-masted SS Gt Britain from across the river ...
MV (Merchant Vessel) Pride of Bristol coming in to moor a few hundred yards away from where we're moored.  She has just returned from taking the Mayor of Bristol for a bit of a tour ...
... the Merchant Seamen crew ...
... securing the bow and stern ropes to the jetty.
... over Poole's Wharf Bridge ...
... to Junction Lock ...
... currently open ...
... past The Pump House which was recommended to us by the Netham Lock Keeper - I called in to look at the menu - there was a 33 day matured Hereford Steak with all the trimming for £20 (2 people sharing) - not sure if that's £20 for two steaks or £20 for two people to share one steak!
Old Dock Cottages - lovely ...
... and into Underwood Yard - named after the sluices (under falls) that control the level of water in the harbour remains the operational centre for the lock gates and bridges ...

... and is a working boatyard today ...
... providing an assortment of businesses
What a fantastic picture (sorry)
I just love this type of panarama
Whoops someone's in trouble ...
... we couldn't understand why the 'other' boat isn't helping more ...
... were's the other person gone?
... over the other side to right the boat - the guy now in the water had his weight on the fin to help ...
... all's well now - it was a sailing school lesson!
Abels Shipbuilders Limited are rebuilding the Meway Queen ...
... click on the pictures ...
... for clearer information
That's our mooring over there - the first boat on the right!
The dock railway is still operational
NB Morialta moored in Bordeaux Quay
The Amphitheatre - this guy was amazing ...

I wonder how many times he crushed his knuckles before he learned to keep them out of the way?
I spoke to him afterwards to congratulate him - he said that he usually charged for photographs but he let me off - he also gave his permission for me to use these on this blog
All tired out - Molly kips in one of her favourite spots!
