We’re back!

Travelling north on the M6 .. Friday 29th March ...
… coming into Cumbria ...
… getting closer to the snowy peaks …

and Kaber in the Eden Valley (between the Lakes and Yorkshire Moors)
12 of us for the long weekend and it’s also Lucy’s birthday today (15)

Saturday - 5 of the grandchildren couldn’t wait to try out the hot tub - cheers guys!

Adam and Joanne with Aero and Diesel …

… and in the afternoon a trip to Brough Castle
… with fantastic views through the castle windows ...
… and a meat feast in the evening cooked on the Lavvo (a Scandinavian indoor grill based on the Laps lavvo tents where they cooked and slept) - note the reindeer skins on the benches!

… and ends with a birthday cake for daughter-in-law Ange!
Easter Sunday after Mass it’s an Egg hunt ...
Early Easter Monday morning and daughter Sharon, hubby Joe with the 2 eldest grandchildren have other commitments and leave for Scotland.
The rest of us go out for a walk - the kids just loved the deep snow drifts on the verges.

 Lambs in jackets!
Pack walk (Alice, Ange, Joanne, Mark, Lucy)
A circular walk - looking back at Kaber Chapel in the centre of the picture

… getting a little tired but still enjoying that snow as we return to the chapel
Tuesday 2nd April saw us visiting Ullswater where we pulled over to eat our picnic lunch by the lake and the wild daffodils ...
… and a rope swing - how are we going to get up there on that bar?
Mission accomplished and Alice gets a helping hand from sister Joanne
Meanwhile Lucy, Ed, Molly and Grandad George are looking at that fantastic view.

Ed’s turn on the rope swing
and Joanne gets a start from Uncle Mark
We then visited Aira Falls - spectacular ...
... complete with huge icicles
Group picture taken by George …

 … not forgetting Molly!

and back to our holiday home Kaber Chapel

Wednesday involved a visit to Kendal where the younger contingent walked the High Streets and George and I walked along the River Kent near Miller Bridge

A beautiful sunset at Kaber 19:45

and a dip in the tub rounded off the busy day
(George, yours truly, son Mark and his son Ed)

Testing my new camera (Panasonic Lumix tz40) on our last day (yesterday) - panoramic views of the Sitting Room  and the Great Room.

We have had an absolutely fantastic weeks holiday at Kaber Chapel with our family - daughter Sharon with Joe and their 4 kids and son Mark and Ange with their 2 - 12 in all - wonderful!
