A warm sunny cruise

There was a warm sun shining as we left last night’s mooring and waited in the bridge hole for Seyella  to take on some water, then it was our turn whilst Moore 2 Life waited in the hole and pulled into the water point as we left beside BW work boat Crewe where the CRT operatives are fixing a deep hole under the parapet of the bridge into Braidbar Boats.

Passing One Thing After Another - we’d met Pawel and Lewis whilst taking on water this morning - good luck with the renovation guys!
It was a long slow cruise past the miles of moored boats

Moore 2 Life catching us up at Windlehurst Bridge

The Macclesfield Canal is in dire need of some TLC especially the edges which are fast disappearing into the canal, like here at bridge 12 at the High Lane Arm …

… where just as it is at the Braidbar Bridge (top picture) there is a big hole under the bridge parapet which is also falling away

It had become rather overcast as we approached Bancroft Bridge where …

… there was still some snow lingering!

We’ve pulled in for the night just south of Barns Fold Bridge - a bit shallow but quite pleasant.
