Gongoozler's Rest

There's this fantastic cafe at Braunston - well worth a visit (or two) when you're in the vicinity it's called ...
The Gongoozler's Rest is now managed by Avril and her partner Mick and we wish them good luck in their new venture (although I'm sure they wont need it!).
Anyone who knows Braunston or has imbibed and/or dined at the Old Plough in the village will have known Avril as the always welcoming hostess, as she used to manage the pub very successfully.
Avril (complete with Marigolds) and partner Mick ready to welcome diners on board.
The Gongoozler's Rest moored on the towpath just before the turn into Braunston Marina.
What a complicated picture - trying to snap Avril at work in the galley of Gongoozler's Rest whilst we were on the move!
She makes the most wonderful bacon butties - with or without all the trimmings (mushrooms, egg, etc) together with a generous helping of tasty sautéed potatoes, and lots more besides - see the menu here.
Make a visit a MUST when you're next in Braunston - we can well recommend it!
