As I mentioned in my previous post, we've stopped at Fradley to get our breath back after 6 o'clock starts whilst in the dry dock and a couple of long days cruising we had a lie in this morning. We were woken by a passing boat at 08:45! After a cup of tea in bed before ablutions it was 11:30 when we were finally both up and about - so a good excuse for brunch!
When we visited The Swan at Fradley the other night there were ...
duck eggs for sale on the bar ... mmmm lovely ....
... once'd cleaned up they looked even better.
They looked better still poached with a couple of bacon rashers ...
... all gone!
A good cup of tea to wash it all down and we're ready for the next half of the day!
We've long favoured Duck eggs over Hens, and for many years when living in Brecon Beacons area of Wales, had both. We used to sell the Hens eggs and keep the Duck eggs for ourselves. As far as I know, impossible to find up here in northern Sweden! Sadly.
