We're out and about again ...

This morning 07:45 - the cratch window is ready and the new headlamp is fitted
I'm sure that this old dock could tell some stories over the past 100 plus years - but I shall be glad to get out today into the light...
Looking good from the inside ...
... and from the outside ...
... and the go faster stripes tunnel bands look good too!
The boats on the right have been moved out to let NB Four Seasons out of the dock and are currently being moved back into position ... just look at the wind on the water!
Now the hire boats in front of our dock are being moved across the canal.
The water is at the same level now as the canal outside ...
... and the last stop plank is being removed ...
... and out she comes ...
... the lads from the boatyard guide her through the arch.
George needs to turn her over 90 degrees to bring her into the lock ...
... and here she comes ...
... beautifully done George! We're away!
Mrs Swan looks after the nest ...
... while Mr Swan repels all intruders!
Mixed messages in the sky ...
... and a dragon guards the entrance into Aston Marina
 Sky
 Moon at 16:45
 Golden rape oil seed ...
... and the last lock of the day at Hoo Mill.
4 hours after leaving Stone we arrive at Great Haywood. We'd heard from Ann that the visitor moorings were chock-a-block so we pulled in just after bridge 75 and a few minutes later Ann arrived to say hello.  It was good to see her again and we will travel with the her and Chas tomorrow hopefully reaching Fradley Junction for dinner at the Mucky Duck!

  1. Some lovely pictures Carol, and what a great job on the bottom and bands.

The glass looks fabulous, quite a little star that George! xx

  2. R&R is looking good there. Must be a bit anxious taking it out of that dock and back into traffic! I'm guessing that George was again helmsman there!
