... in fact at 06:30 it was -4 and much colder than that a couple of hours earlier ...
... frosty fields at 08:00 ...
... and still only 3 degrees when the convoy was ready to Rock n Roll!
We (RnR) were the first up Gailey Lock to fill our water tank, and whilst I'm in charge of that George and Geoff (Seyella) are assisting Chas (Moore 2 Life) ...
... then comes Mags in charge of Seyella
This Way Autherley - so we keep right at Hatherton Junction ...
... passing the start of the Hatherton Canal on our left ...
... quickly followed by Moore 2 Life
A peaceful scene in the cold sunshine at 20 past 1 ...
.. and starting to become a bit cloudy at half past two.
We've arrived at Autherly Junction now and I've moored under the bridge and dropped George off to set Autherley Lock ... Moore 2 Life has already passed me and disappeared round the corner to the lock ... and now here comes Seyella; Geoff pulls over and steps off ...
... and Mags takes her round that sharp right bend into the lock - then it was my turn; not the best turn I've made on that corner; I started my turn just a little too soon and then caught the wind on the back end from down the canal!
Just 4pm and we've reached our destination on the Shropshire Union Canal between bridges 7 and ...
... 8 - there's Geoff putting in his pins!
